Anthrazit ist Naturstein, kein lackiertes Blech. Die Grundfarbe reicht von tiefem Grau bis nahezu Schwarz, und gezeichnet ist jede Platte anders: feine hellere Adern, matte und leicht schimmernde Zonen, hier und da ein warmer, rostfarbener Einschluss – dort sitzt Eisen im Gestein. Welche Zeichnung dein Stück trägt, sehen auch wir erst, wenn der Block gespalten ist.

Nass sieht er anders aus als trocken

Am Brunnen erlebst du das täglich: Nass wirkt Schiefer tief und fast schwarz, trocken heller und matter. Die Wasserlinie zeichnet sich ab, und nach einem Regenschauer sieht dein Brunnen anders aus als in der Mittagssonne. Das ist kein Mangel, sondern genau der Grund, warum Wasser auf Naturstein so gut aussieht.

Woher der Stein kommt

Dieser Schiefer entstand vor rund 400 Millionen Jahren als Schlamm auf einem Meeresboden. Druck und Zeit haben ihn verdichtet und in feine Schichten gefaltet. Was du in der Hand hältst, ist verdichtete Zeit – und keine zwei Platten haben dieselbe Geschichte.

Von Hand gespalten

Schiefer wird nicht geschnitten, sondern entlang seiner gewachsenen Schichten geöffnet. Deshalb siehst du auf der Oberfläche feine Striche und Spaltlinien, und dort, wo eine Schicht endet, eine kleine Stufe oder eine Kante, die leicht absteht. Das gehört dazu und ist bei jedem Stück anders – es ist der Beweis, dass hier gespalten und nicht gefräst wurde.

Gefügt wird ebenfalls von Hand: präzise genug, dass alles sitzt, und unperfekt genug, dass man die Hand dahinter erkennt. Eine Schattierung, eine Ader, die aus der Reihe tanzt: keine Fehler, sondern der Beleg, dass hier niemand eine Form abgefüllt hat.

Wir bekommen als Rohware, was der Berg hergibt – lenken lässt sich das weder im Steinbruch noch im Lager. Ehrlich gesagt wollen wir das auch nicht. Lass dich überraschen: Du bekommst das eine Stück, das in 400 Millionen Jahren entstanden ist und das es kein zweites Mal gibt.

Easy to use: Plug & Play – Unpack, fill with water, plug in, and relax. No water connection necessary. The fountain is operated with a pump. You can use tap water or distilled-quality water. Maintenance: With tap water, clean the water wall and pump approximately once every 2 months. Note: If possible, use distilled-quality water to significantly reduce the need for cleaning.

Tip: Let the water wall run non-stop so that no limescale forms and no dirt particles can accumulate. Lighting: To set the scene for your water wall, lighting plays a crucial role. The water reflects light in a wonderful way, which is essential for the appearance of a perfect water flow.

Due to bad experiences in many respects, however, we have decided against integrated lighting systems in our water walls. You can, however, purchase the SHINE light source from CLIMAQUA separately to install an external, atmospheric light source. Tip: Place the water wall facing a wall/corner against a natural light source, such as a window, so that the water wall sparkles during the day.

Position a potted plant next to the water wall. Install the SHINE light source on the plant pot and aim the spotlight at the water flow. The overall effect will impress you! Do I need a water or power connection?

No water connection needed: CLIMAQUA fountains work with a closed circuit – the integrated pump keeps circulating the water you filled in. You only top up occasionally what has evaporated. For power, a standard outlet nearby is enough (230 V) – the pump and LED lighting run on it. Many small indoor fountains even manage with a USB connection.

How much water does a water wall evaporate per day at normal room temperature?

The amount of water a water wall evaporates per day at normal room temperature (approximately 20-22°C) can vary and depends on several factors, such as humidity, air circulation and the size of the water surface.

In general, however, one can say:

Average evaporation rate: Under normal conditions (40-60% relative humidity and moderate air circulation), a water wall with a surface area of about 1 square meter can evaporate about 2 to 3 liters of water per day.
It is important to note that these values are only guidelines. At higher/lower temperatures or higher/lower humidity, evaporation can be higher/lower.

Do indoor fountains cause mold in my home?

Clean the fountain and the water tank once a week with mild cleaning agents.
Optimal indoor climate:
Place the fountain in a well-ventilated room to promote air circulation.
Make sure that the humidity stays between 40 and 60 % by ventilating regularly.

Checking the pump:
Keep the pump in good condition and watch for leaks to avoid water buildup.
